This is a guide on how to remove weapon attachments in Back 4 Blood.
The greatest runs in Back 4 Blood will be characterized in part by your weaponry and weapon accessories. But if you’ve come this far, you’re probably curious about how to remove weapon attachments in-game. Yes, is the simple answer to that question. In certain ways, yes.
The weaponry system in Battlefield 4 is a little buggy right now, but here’s all you need to know about removing weapon attachments to make room for better gear and modifications.
What Is the Best Way to Get Rid of Weapon Attachments?
Back 4 Blood has a ton of weapons, so many that if your previous excursion into this subgenre was Left 4 Dead and its meager arsenal, you’ll be blown away by the choices.
The same can be said about weapon attachments, but they may be difficult to compare and switch out due to Back 4 Blood’s unintuitive structure that makes it difficult to remove attachments.
Unless many things happen, after you’ve put a weapon mod on your gun, it will remain there for the duration of the run.
- You may change the gun for a completely other weapon.
- You may replace a particular mod, such as a sight, magazine, or compensator, with a different mod that fits in the same slot.
Any weapon attachments you have in your loadout can’t be removed or dropped outright.
If you wish to remove any weapon attachments, you’ll need to switch weapons or replace them with a mod from the same slot. You can’t take them out and leave the accessory slot vacant.
On the plus side, friends can pick up your fallen modifications, providing you a chance to help your fellow Cleaners if they need it.
What Is the Best Way to Locate Weapon Attachments?
These modifications are hidden in tiny orange boxes that take a few seconds to unlock throughout each level. They may also be purchased at the big orange vendor crates in any safe room, but due to the randomized nature of Back 4 Blood, you can’t be sure what you’ll discover in either instance.
(Kind of) Matter Colors
Attachments also use a tier-based, color-coded loot system. The attachments and weapons you’ll discover are categorized as follows, from worst to best:
- Grey
- Green
- Blue
- Purple
- Orange
It’s sometimes best to just have the rarer treasure, while other times you may prefer a lower-tier item. Personally, I like a quick reload, therefore I’ll choose a green fast-reloading magazine over a blue clip with improved bullet penetration.
Not Every Mod Is Worth Using
Also, be cautious while choosing weapon attachments. While most of these modifications merely make a rifle better and aren’t particularly harmful to have installed, certain modifications, such as scopes, may become a nuisance.
Using a long-range scope on a weapon like an SMG may make it almost useless, so pick your loadout carefully to match your card builds and difficulty. Don’t simply pick them up whenever you see them.
